Dream

Dream is an imposing sculpture and a piece of public art by award-winning artist Jaume Plensa.

The sculpture sits in Sutton Manor Woodland, on the site of the former Sutton Manor Colliery. It was designed in collaboration with local ex-miners with the aim of reflecting the aspirations of the community and represents a girl with closed eyes, an emblem of hope for what the future may bring.

It was installed in 2009 and was funded by The Channel 4 Big Art Project.
