Nexus Night Club in 2002

For many, Nexus was a familiar stop on the St Helens night-out circuit, alongside Maloneys, Bar X, Dali Bar and Assembly. Memories range from wearing black socks over trainers to get through the door to wardrobe mishaps in the toilets, losing your mates and spending what felt like hours wandering around looking for them. There were catch-ups in smokers’ corners, nights when a fight interrupted the dance floor, and plenty of laughter and dancing until the early hours. You might finish with a kebab or an Indian on Duke Street, still with change from the money you’d taken out. It was the whole evening—the bars, the people and the unexpected moments along the way—that left everyone with stories to tell.
