My mum, Bertha Joan Hutchings, won a scholarship to the Notre Dame Convent School for girls. She was always known as Joan, as she hated her first name. She is seen here sitting in the front of this group in their school uniforms. I don’t know the names of the others, but her best friend was called Yvonne so I guess she’s one of them.
