The former Carr Mill Cafe, Laffak Road 18/03/2023
Credit: Ste Lingard
The cafe was once a thriving truckstop from the East Lancs Road's days as a proto-motorway, before the real ones came along. A scene for the 1987 film 'Coast to Coast', with Lenny Henry and John Shea, was filmed in there. (As for the 'where' tab, the exact location is known, but doesn't fit comfortably into the ward tabs - no one would describe Carr Mill as any of those, in day to day conversation.)
