Street view of High Parr Street and side view of Atlas Street.
The former Lion pub was on the left of the photograph where the Formula One autocentre Garage now stands.
the Lion Hotel, Higher Parr St, closed circa Aug 1965 or 68 and later demolished. The pub was also called The Lady Ellington to locals.
Further up High Parr Street before the turning for Ardwick Street would have been The Colliers Arms.
Across the road from the Lion was the Royal Oak in bygone times.
