Bricks marked J. R. Rainhill where from John Roby’s brickfield dated around 1877.
John Roby Ltd was based in Rainhill, in St Helens and was a firm of brass founders, and made portholes, bells and other brass fittings for many ship builders. The company also made bricks.
This brick was found in West Park St Helens.
