Found this TIZER bottle in the Sankey Brook in Earlestown. Very intricate pattern, branded with logo and Reg number.
Couldn't clean the inside properly has had Sankey sediment in it and what looks like paint but it does give a good abstract effect. There is a fully clean one in the World of Glass in the bottle cabinets that is is on view.
This was one of my favourite drinks in my youth.
The name TIZER originally comes from the original name, "Pickup's Appetiser". It was launched in 1924 by Fred and Tom Pickup of Birtle, Bury, Manchester (a branded B is on the bottom of the bottle) when it was known as "Pickup's Appetiser". It was sold to the Scottish drinks company A.G. Barr in 1972.
