NCB Gadbury Brick.
Sutton, April 2025.
Credit: Philip Wilkinson
This National Coal Board Brick (NCB) was found close to the old site where Ravenhead Colliery once stood on Burtonhead Road.
The colliery was also known as Groves Colliery, there is no date of when the change in name occurred.
The colliery came under the National Coal Board on 1st January 1947. This brick could be something that remains from when the colliery was knocked down.
