The Roby Foundry in Rainhill supplied orders to the Royal Navy Dockyard Devonport for this ship in which was completed in 1915. Warspite took part in the Battle of Jutland in 1916 and served throughout World War ll before running aground off the coast of Cornwall in 1947 on the way to scrapping. She earned 15 battle Honours, the most awarded to an individual ship in the Royal Navy.
